Fife Rehabilitation Service

Introduction Referral conditions
Fife Rehabilitation Service is part of the Fife Primary Care Division of NHS Fife and is based at the Sir George Sharp Unit at Cameron Hospital in Windygates. The service provides assessment and rehabilitation for those with physical disabilities due to a neurological cause primarily in the 16 - 64 age group. The main diagnostic categories seen are multiple sclerosis, acquired brain injury including stroke and traumatic brain injury, and there is a service for young disabled school leavers, i.e. those with a physical disability in secondary education. Referrals are made by hospital consultants or General Practioners directly to Dr Lance Sloan, Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine who is in charge of the Fife Rehabilitation Service.
