SAMH Evergreen
| Introduction | Referral conditions |
Evergreen provides work experience opportunities in horticulture for people with mental health problems.
The service was established in 1995 and offers practical work experience training to enable participants to gain experience, skills and training in horticulture and garden maintenance. The training is structured around the needs of the individual, allowing participants to progress and develop at their own pace. The project location offers a plant nursery and ornamental garden where plants are produced for sale to the public and landscaping and maintenance work undertaken to develop the site and community garden. External contracts may also be undertaken to assist training needs and assist income generation. |
Access to the majority of SAMH services is via the recognised referral route for specific services and normally follows an assessment by an appropriate agency to match service user needs with the service in question. This is normally the case when funding for the service received requires to be agreed prior to the commencement of the service. |
