How is the training delivered?

Training is delivered in a participative and interactive style which involves a variety of methods.  These range from presentations to group work and discussion sessions.  Participants are encouraged to draw on and share their own practical experience and to consider how they would apply learning from the training courses to their professional practice.  Participants come from a wide range of backgrounds, which enhances the sharing and learning experience.

Who delivers the training?

Course trainers come from a range of organisations across Fife including Fife Council, NHS Fife and voluntary sector organisations such as CVS Fife, Fife Alcohol Support Service and Home-Start East Fife.  This partnership approach ensures that local knowledge and expertise is brought to the training courses and is crucial to the successful delivery of the Health Improvement Training Programme.

Cost

All training courses in the programme, with the exception of those which are accredited by a higher education institution, are free to attend.

If a course does incur a cost for accreditation, this is clearly stated in the course information.

Who can attend?

Training courses are open to staff and volunteers from the public and voluntary sectors in Fife.  Staff members affiliated with the Healthy Working Lives project are also welcome to attend.
