Mental Health Law Focus - comprises a range of mental health specific information resources for use on the Fife Rights Forum website. It is part of the Fife Rights Forum Mental Health Law Project (for more information about the project click here).

Our aim is to keep you up to date with the latest important developments in Mental Health law that affect you as a practitioner. We will also seek to cover important developments in Adults with Incapacity and Disability and Discrimination law.

- News : each week items such as consultations, policy announcements and reports are published on the site.

-  Articles : we welcome articles from Fife Rights Forum partnership organisations and practitioners. If you have an idea for an article you would like to write for Mental Health Law Focus send us your details and a brief summary via our Contact Us page. We will respond within one working day and all ideas will be treated in strictest confidence. Or you can call Stuart Pryde or Lynda Sloan on 01592 641401.

In the meantime, we will provide links to articles available on the Internet concerning practical, medical and legal issues. Where articles include references to cases and other official sources we will endeavour to include links or the full text of the case provided we can obtain permission where necessary. 

-  Case Law : we source the latest publicly available judgments from various Court Services. Each case will be listed on the site, usually in the week of publication on the official sources, with a link to the relevant source. Any case reports featured on this page and in the archives are taken from the Mental Health Law Updates by Hilary Patrick, Fellow, University of Edinburgh as featured in SCOLAG, Legal Journal. -  Legislation : details of all new Statutory Instruments, together with a link to the full text of the legislation, are posted on the site in the week of their publication on the Office of Public Sector Information (opsi) website.
