Since the first Fife Advice and Rights Strategy was launched in 2004, substantial progress has been made in improving the quality and delivery of rights and advice services, and in tackling social exclusion and inequality.
Striving to build on the success of the last five years, on 20th March 2009, Fife Rights Forum launched a new Fife Advice, Rights and Financial Inclusion strategy for 2009-2012. The Strategy aims to support the delivery of high quality, co-ordinated advice, rights and financial inclusion services that are capable of both meeting the existing needs of the people of Fife and flexibly responding to the changing circumstances and demands of the future by identifying 5 key priorities:
1. Improve the quality of advice and rights services 2. Co-ordinate and develop actions to address financial inclusion 3. Increase access to legal advice and representation 4. Assist in the development of a holistic approach to service delivery through co-ordinated partnership working and information-sharing 5. Establish links with other strategic partnerships and ensure appropriate connections are made at local and national levels
