This is an up to date list of Solicitors (a) willing to represent patients detained under mental health legislation and/or (b) practicing in mental health related areas of law.

The list provides basic contact details and links to more detailed information about each legal firm as well as links to FRF Directory entries / FORT where appropriate. Some firms have several branches, which are all listed under the head office's location.

STOP PRESS
This list has been updated and now includes out of hours contact details for relevant solicitors. Please note, out of hours contact details should only be used in cases of urgency. For example, a tribunal hearing with very short notice, and/or where immediate contact may alleviate any anxieties a person might have getting legal representation.  

The Mental Health Law Project team will regularly up date the list and background information as required. Significant updates will be communicated through the FRF and the MHLF electronic newsletters.
